The provision of a roundabout has been sought for a County Kildare area, in an effort to alleviate the 'high volume of traffic'.

The call was made by Fine Gael councillor Tim Durkan at the latest Clane - Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which took place on Friday, September 4 last.

In response to Cllr Durkan’s request, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: “KCC acknowledges the concerns raised regarding traffic volumes at Taghadoe Cross and Ovidstown Cross.

“However, there are currently no resources available within the council's approved work programme to undertake a feasibility study at these locations.”

Despite this, KCC also told Cllr Durkan: “The matter will be noted for consideration as part of future programme and budget reviews.”
