About News Room

News Room is an index of local journalism from across Ireland. The stories come from newsrooms taking part in the Local Democracy and Courts Reporting Schemes, published through the Coimisiún na Meán journalism schemes portal.

Every story is filed under the county it concerns and grouped into categories such as courts, council, planning, health and roads. Use My county to follow only the places you care about; your choice stays on your own device.

Under the terms of the schemes, a story appears here seven days after the original publisher ran it. Photographs remain exclusive to the original publisher and are never reproduced by us.

Which newsrooms appear is managed by the News Room editors, who can switch individual publishers on or off at any time.
