By Court reporter · The Nenagh Guardian · 23 May 2026

A man was recently disqualified from driving in his absence after he failed to appear before Nenagh District Court.

Patrick Joseph Hanley (29) of Rosemount, Thurles, was stopped on September 14 last by Garda Mark Rabbitte, whom he told he had purchased the vehicle he was driving only two hours previously. Garda Rabbitte had seen him driving it several days previously.

It was the second time Mr Hanley was convicted of having no insurance. He received a four-year disqualification from driving and a fine of €250 with four months to pay for the offence.
