Nursing home and creche also planned
Construction of a major housing development in Nenagh, which also includes a 90-bed nursing home, is to get underway in April.
Whitebox Developments is currently completing a scheme of 67 units for approved housing body Respond at Tyone. Minister for Housing James Browne visited Nenagh last Friday to inspect the houses, which are to be complete by the end of March.
Whitebox is to then commence work on a wider development that will see a total 340 new houses built at Tyone. These are to consist of 193 private housing units and 80 affordable housing units as well as the 67 units for Respond. A creche and 90-bed nursing home are also planned for the site.
The housing development amounts to a €100 million investment into the town. Added to the 307 dwellings at Dromin Road that Quantum Homes commenced this month, the development will deliver a total of 647 new houses to Nenagh.
