A woman recently pleaded guilty to careless driving in Nenagh District Court after a road traffic collision occurred at Portland, Lorrha, in 2024.
Sinead Conway (45) of Castleview, Castlebar, Co Mayo was driving when she collided with another vehicle at a dangerous junction. Extensive damage was caused to both vehicles.
Nenagh District Court heard that Ms Conway had a “momentary lapse” in judgement. She had no previous convictions.
Judge Elizabeth Healy accepted her plea to careless driving and noted that the collision occurred at a dangerous junction. Ms Conway was convicted and fined €400 with one month to pay. Judge Healy exercised her discretion to not disqualify the driver.
