Still no plans for disability parking bay on this Kildare street

There are still no plans to install a disability parking bay on one County Kildare street.

Kildare County Council (KCC) made the revelation at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Friday, June 5 last.

Previously, back in March, Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney called for the implementation of a disability parking bay on Mill Street, Maynooth.

However, these plans were temporarily put on hold, pending a review of the Maynooth Parking Bye-Laws.

Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney | FILE PHOTO And now, at the latest MD meeting, Cllr Angela Feeney submitted the following question to KCC: “Can KCC confirm when a disability [parking] bay, shared with taxi rank, will be installed on Mill Street in Maynooth?”

In response, KCC told her that there are no plans to install a disability parking bay in the taxi rank in Mill Street.

Despite this, a representative of KCC who was also present at the meeting told Cllr Feeney that they would still meet with her onsite to discuss the matter.
