Moglaí Bap agus DJ Próvaí ó Kneecap ina moltóirí ar chomórtas rap cheol an Oireachtais

Is sean fhocal traidisiúnta Gaeilge é Mol an Óige ach thug baill Kneecap brí nua do ag an Oireachtas inné.

FUAIR IOMAITHEOIRÍ SA chomórtas rapcheol ag Oireachtas na Samhna i mBéal Feirste geit nuair a chuaigh siad ar an ardán ag an Ionad Cois Cuain sa chathair inné nó cérbh iad na moltóirí ach Moglaí Bap agus DJ Próvaí ón ngrúpa Feirsteach Kneecap.

B’é seo an chéad uair riamh go raibh comórtas rap cheol i measc comórtais amhránaíocht ar an sean nós, agallaimh bheirte agus lúibíní ag an Oireachtas agus bhí seachtar istigh ar an gcomórtas.

Go hionadúil bíonn ainmneacha na moltóirí luaite in éineacht le liosta na n-iomaitheoirí ar an gclár oifigiúil ach ní raibh aon ainm luaite ar an gcomórtas an uair seo.

Bhí seisear ó Ghaelscoil Bharra i gCabra i mBaile Átha Cliath agus iomaitheoir amháin ó Dhoire. Sa deireadh b’é Piaras Mac Dúglais ó Ghaelscoil Bharra a bhuaigh an chéad duais, Corn Chuimhneacháin Ghearóid Uí Chairealláin agus bonn airgid.

Mac le Gearóid is ea Naoise nó Moglaí Bap mar is fearr aithne do. Cailleadh Gearóid i mí na Nollag díreach caite.

Níos déanaí an oíche chéanna bhí Moglaí Bap agus DJ Próvaí ar an ardán iad féin agus an bheirt ag seinm in éineacht le Le Boom, rapálaithe óg a bhíonn ag ceol as Gaeilge cosúil le Kneecap. Bhí ionad an ghig, Tábhairne an Choirceog/Beehive Bar, in iarthar Bhéal Feirste lán go doras don ócáid.

Bhí go leor imeachtaí eile ar siúl in ionaid ar fud Bhéal Feirste ar an Déardaoin, comórtais amhránaíochta ar an sean nós agus fuílleach eile. Stíofán Ó Cualáin ó Leitir Mealláin a thug leis ceann de mór dhuaiseanna an lae, Corn na bhFear. Beidh Corn na mBan ann anocht (oíche hAoine) agus Corn Uí Riada ann ar an Satharn.

Comórtas nua eile a bheidh ar an ardán ar an Aoine ná Amhránaíocht le Tionlacan Ghiotár agus Corn Chuimhneacháin Albert Fry, amhránaí iomráiteach ó Bhéal Feirste, mar dhuais don bhuaiteoir. I measc na moltóirí don chomórtas seo tá Máiréad Ní Mhaonaigh, príomh amhránaí agus ceoltóir le hAltan.
