Road closure in Athy announced - News - Kildare Nationalist

Caoimhin Treacy Drivers using the Fortbarrington Road (L8065) on the outskirts of Athy should expect short-term closures of up to five days at a time from later this month into the autumn while roadworks are carried out.
Kildare County Council has announced plans to close the road between Ballybought Lane (L8082) and the Kildare/Laois border on a periodic basis from 21 July until 15 September to facilitate road maintenance works.
The local authority has said that traffic will be diverted via Maganey, using the N78, R417 and R429, with diversion routes to be signposted.
Emergency access and limited local access will be maintained during the works.
