Young Letterkenny man caught in possession of cannabis

A LETTERKENNY man has been charged after being caught in possession of drugs.

The case of 21-year-old Caolan Plumb of Summerhill, Knockbracken, Letterkenny was before Letterkenny District Court on Monday past.

He is charged with being in possession of an illegal drug, cannabis, at his home address on July 30, 2024, for the purpose of selling or otherwise supplying it to others.

Garda Sergeant Oliver Devaney told the court that the drugs were valued at €1,798 and weighed 89g.

Disclosure is to be sent to defending solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher by the end of August. Mr Gallagher requested the disclosure to include the Garda search warrants, on behalf of his client.

Judge Emile Daly accepted jurisdiction and set a date of September for a plea or a hearing in the case involving the student.

Mr Gallagher requested that Legal aid is provided for his client.
