WORKS to erect bollards at a residential area in Letterkenny will be completed before the end of August

WORKS to erect bollards at a residential area in Letterkenny will be completed before the end of August, it has been confirmed.

At the July meeting of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District (MD), it emerged that residents of Crievesmith Park have seen motorists mounting the footpath to try and avoid a speed ramp in the area.

Their concerns were brought to the meeting by Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh.

The Fine Gael councillor put forward a motion for bollards to be installed to prevent this from happening, which was seconded by Fianna Fáil Cllr Donal Coyle.

Cllr Kavanagh welcomed the response that the location is included in the Roads Teams Works programme for August.
