In the 1996 Census, the community of Asdee had a population of 566, by 2006, it had fallen to 503

In the 1996 Census, the community of Asdee had a population of 566, by 2006, it had fallen to 503, in 2011 the number of people recorded living in the area had further dropped to 481 and the 2016 Census established there was a population of 480.

Up until 2015, Kerry County Council had classified Asdee as a small village but was then downgraded to the smaller development node.

In 2020, Asdee Community Development unveiled its five-year socio-economic development plan to revive the area.

The 2022 Census recorded a population increase in Asdee - it had risen to 496, a 3.3% increase on 2016.
