‘Laois man through and through’ on drugs charges - Courts - Laois Nationalist

A SOLICITOR for a man who said his client may not have a native Irish sounding name but nonetheless is a “Laois man through and through.” Solicitor Aengus McCarthy made the comment when he was defending his client, who had just turned 18 years of age.

The defendant cannot be named as he was a minor (under-18) when the alleged offence occurred.

He is charged with possessing drugs to the value of €340 for his own use, as well as possessing the drug for sale or supply on 11 April at City Park car park, Portlaoise.

Judge Andrew Gubbins remanded the defendant on continuing bail to the 2 November sitting of the court.
