A Donegal man has appeared in court charged with breaching a protection order.

The man, who is in his 50s and cannot be named for legal reasons, was brought before Falcarragh District Court.

Evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of the man was given to the court by schedule.

He was charged with breaching a protection order previously granted by a District Court. The Charge is contrary to section 33 (1) of the Domestic Violence Act, 2018.

Garda Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court that there were no objections to bail, but Gardai sought conditions. Sergeant Doyle said the conditions had been explained to the accused man and he was aware of them.

Judge Emile Daly granted bail in the man’s own bond of €150, nil cash.

Judge Daly asked the man if he understood the conditions and he replied: “I do.”
