A man charged over an alleged breach of a domestic violence order in Letterkenny at the weekend has been ordered to stay away from an address in the town.

The man was brought before Letterkenny District Court on Monday by Gardai.

The accused, who is in his 40s, cannot be named due to the nature of the charge.

He has been charged with contravening a safety order at an address in Letterkenny on July 26, 2026.

Evidence of his arrest, charge and caution were given by way of schedule to the court.

Garda Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that bail could be granted with conditions imposed.

Judge Emile Daly remanded the man on bail to a later sitting of the court on condition that he: reside at an address to be agreed upon by Gardai; provide a mobile number to Gardai and be contactable 24/7; and stay away from an address in Letterkenny.
