Several motorists have been fined in court after falling foul to Donegal’s first static speed camera.

The cases, relating to detections made by the camera on the N13 at Killyverry, Newtowncunningham, were before Judge Emile Daly at Letterkenny District Court.

The camera was installed in December 2024 as part of a national rollout and the speed limit on the road is 100km/h or 80km/h for HGVs.

In the case of each matter before the court, the drivers had been issued with fixed charge penalty notices (FCPNs), but these were unpaid.

Garda Sergeant Jim Collins submitted the evidence to the court.

Cathal Diver, of Cois na hAbhann, Drumcarbit, Malin, was clocked travelling at 122km/h at 4.39am on April 16, 2026.
