Cllr Mary Hoade has welcomed the completion of a project in Caherlistrane funded by the LPT fund. This was a new fund brought into each municipal district for capital projects in this term.
The project included 20 new public lights covering 700m of footpaths in Caherlistrane, as well as the required civil works and new ducting for the lights.
This covers lighting from the GAA pitch along the village, shop, petrol station and Queally pub to Kilvolan junction at a cost of €55,000.
“This project makes the area much safer for pedestrians and the many people using the GAA facilities,” she added.
