A Donegal woman has been granted an interim barring order against her husband, who she alleged made serious threats against her and their children.

The woman told a District Court in Donegal that the man has been telling their children things designed to cause friction.

She told the judge that the issues began last year “when he stepped outside of the marriage”.

The woman outlined a situation where the man threatened to run over her with a vehicle.

“He told me that he would burn the house down and run me over,” she said.

The woman told the court that the man is “very nasty” and that he “blamed me for him cheating” while talking to their children.

She alleged that the man also caused damage in the house and added; “I’m not sure if he would act on these threats”.

The woman told the judge that she hasn’t yet contacted An Garda Siochana “because I don’t like ringing the guards as the kids are terrified.
