Assault causing harm in Cashel Park Letterkenny

THREE members of the same Letterkenny family have been charged with violent disorder and assault following an incident in a residential area of the town.

Martin Ward (44), Geraldine Ward (42), and Paddy Ward (19), all of Cashel Park, Lisnennan, Letterkenny appeared before Letterkenny District Court on Monday, where they were arrested, charged and cautioned by Garda Eimear O’Kane at the courthouse on the morning of the sitting.

Martin Ward faces charges of violent disorder and assault causing harm to another resident of Cashel Park on May 27, 2025. Geraldine Ward is also charged with violent disorder and assault on another resident in Cashel Park, on the same date. Paddy Ward faces charges of violent disorder and assault causing harm to the same resident of Cashel Park that Martin Ward is alleged to have assaulted, also on the same date.

All three were remanded on bail with terms set as a cash bond of €150 each, a requirement to reside at their current address, to provide a mobile telephone number and remain contactable at all times, and to have no contact with the alleged injured parties within the estate.

The court heard that disclosure would be made available to defending solicitor Mr Rory O’Brien by July 27.

Judge Emile Daly accepted jurisdiction and set the matter down for summary disposal on September 21.
