Mayo County Council have confirmed that a busy road between two towns is set to be closed up until the middle of next month.

The Council have revealed that the R320 between Swinford and Kiltimagh, which closed yesterday (Monday, November 3), will remain closed to commuters until Friday, December 12, in order to facilitate upgrade works by Irish Water in the area.

Local access and emergency vehicle access will be permitted.

However, commuters between the two towns have been advised to allow extra time on their journeys, with the R321 Kiltimagh to Bohola road and the N5 being used as diversion routes.
