Kildare County Council releases update regarding Taking In Charge of this estate

Kildare County Council (KCC) has released an update regarding the Taking In Charge (TIC) of one County Kildare estate.

The information was provided to a local councillor who attended the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which took place on Monday, June 15 last.

Labour Party Cllr Aoife Breslin | PHOTO CREDIT: KILDARECOCO.IE Near the conclusion of the meeting, Labour Party Cllr Aoife Breslin submitted the following question for KCC to answer: “Can KCC provide an update regarding the taking in charge of Gallowshill Estate in Athy?”

In response, KCC told Cllr Breslin via the report it presented at the meeting that a TIC request for Gallowshill was first received back in August of 2025.

“Since then, Development Control have engaged with the developer of Gallowshill to progress the TIC process and await the submission of the required surveys and documentation,” KCC added. “[The] Development Control [section of KCC] will continue to engage with the developer regarding the completion of any outstanding works including the finished road surface.”

Following this, Cllr Breslin spoke to thank KCC senior engineer, Liam McNeela, for his work on the process thus far.

She also urged KCC to ‘just keep it [the TIC process for Gallowshill] moving’.
