Claims Flood Defence and Wastewater Capacity Concerns Could Halt Ennis Housing Developments - News % Clare FM

It’s claimed housing developments south of Ennis cannot proceed due to a lack of flood defences and wastewater capacity.

It comes as Ennis Municipal District is set to write to the county’s Oireachtas members, asking them to attend October’s meeting to address these concerns.

Recent flash flooding in Killarney was highlighted during the meeting, with councillors discussing how quickly people’s lives can be impacted if the right defences aren’t in place.

Clarecastle Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom O’Callaghan says it’s vital funding is secured to futureproof the county town.
