Keep on frying: Longford chip van allowed to remain in place

A chip van has been granted permission by the Longford planning department to remain in Kiernan’s Forge, Carriglass, Killoe, County Longford.

The applicant, Michael Hunt, had applied for permission in March of this year.

In granting the planning application, the council attached a number of conditions relevant to the interests of proper planning and development, and for reasons of road safety, and ensuring the development was carried out in accordance with the permission granted.

The conditions stipulated that the chip van could operate between the hours of 5pm and 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and between the hours of 5pm and 10pm on Sunday, Monday and Thursday unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Planning Authority.

Mr Hunt was also granted permission to trade on the site for 3 years from the date of decision, namely May 13.
