A public meeting on the cost of living crisis is due to be held in Letterkenny.

Sinn Féin TD, Deputy Dáil Leader and Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty and Sinn Féin TD Padraig MacLochlainn will take to the stage to detail the ongoing financial pressure on families.

The talk is scheduled to take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Wednesday, June 3 at 7:30pm.

“This meeting is part of our ongoing campaign to demand real action on the cost of living and deliver support for workers and families,” Deputy Doherty said. “Come along, have your say, and help us keep the pressure on to make life more affordable for you and your family.”

The opposition party have an alternative budget, proposing a €2.5 billion cost-of-living package aimed at supporting workers and families. The budget is targeted at reducing the cost of living, addressing the housing crisis, and expanding healthcare delivery.

The party also have an emphasis on Irish Unity, which they state “a United Ireland would not only allow for economic and political progress, but it would present an opportunity for a reset – an opportunity for people on this island from every background to shape a new Ireland,” according to the 2026 budget.
