Westmeath County Council has undertaken to trim the verges on the approach road to Coosan Point shortly.
The council made the commitment to Cllr John Gibbons at the recent June monthly meeting of the Athlone Moate Municipal District.
Cllr Gibbons had made the call, asking , due to the increased level of traffic to Coosan Point, that grass on the verges be trimmed to allow pedestrians stand in away from traffic.
The road to the popular recreational spot at Coosan Point is narrow, and can present a danger to pedestrians.
