Accused of theft from pub and being drunk in Offaly hotel

A MAN has been accused of drunkenness at a Tullamore hotel and the theft of an iPhone from a pub in the town.

Michael O'Reilly (33), Birch Grove, Portlaoise is also alleged to have failed to keep a vehicle at the scene of an occurrence where damage occurred at O'Moore Street, Tullamore on June 25 last.

Mr O'Reilly has further been accused of having no insurance or driving licence at the time.

The charge of public drunkenness relates to the Tullamore Court Hotel on O'Moore Street on June 26 and the theft of the phone is alleged to have occurred between June 25 and June 26 at The Goalpost , Colmcille Street.

Mr O'Reilly appeared by video link at Tullamore District Court where Judge Andrew Cody heard while he was on bail in relation to the charges on June 25-26, he was in custody in Cloverhill Prison on other matters.

Judge Cody told the accused he was putting the Tullamore charges back to September 16 and advised him to speak to his solicitor in the meantime.
