DONEGAL County Council will initiate talks with the view of establishing a Town Team in Milford.

DONEGAL County Council will initiate talks in Milford with the view of establishing a Town Team.

Cllr Declan Meehan, who is a native of the town, asked for a Town Team to be set up with all relevant stakeholders.

The Independent councillor brought the motion to the July meeting of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District (MD).

Town Teams are local groups comprised of residents, community groups, businesses and other stakeholders who work with local authorities to develop a Town Centre First Plan.

In an official response, Cllr Meehan was informed: “The Council has successfully established eight Town Teams to date and has been greatly encouraged by the strong level of interest from communities in establishing Town Teams to help identify and deliver regeneration initiatives for their towns.

“The Council is happy to work with the Milford community to establish a Town Team and will begin initial community engagements in August September 2026.”
