Every building in the town of Killeshandra is set to be painted in the coming weeks.
€300,000 was given by Minister Dara Calleary to improve rural towns that are fighting back against rural decline.
The funding enables the revitalisation of Killeshandra with a town-wide paint scheme, new public spaces and amenities along with lighting to create a vibrant hub where residents and visitors can connect and thrive.
The funding, which was provided under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS), is being invested in projects that will rejuvenate town centres, drive economic growth and town footfall, combat dereliction and vacancy.
Margaret McGerty from the Killeshandra Community Council says the painting of every building in the town has been underway for the past two weeks.
Margaret says this undertaking will have a major impact on the town and for the people that live, work or visit Killeshandra.
