Cllr Eddie Mitchell (Ind) is the new Cathaoirleach of Manorhamilton Municipal District.

Cllr Mitchell was selected for the coming year at the agm of the District, which was held on Monday morning of this week.

He was proposed for the role by Cllr James Gilmartin (Ind) and seconded by Cllr Mary Bohan (FF).

Speaking at the agm, the outgoing Cathaoirleach thanked “my fellow councillors for their co-operation” and also went on to thank council officials.

Cllr Fallon went on to wish the new Cathaoirleach and Leas-Cathaoirleach well for the coming year.

Meanwhile, Cllr Justin Warnock (FF) was selected as Leas-Cathaoirleach for the next 12 months.

He was proposed by Cllr Felim Gurn (Ind) and seconded by Cllr Bohan.
