Limerick woman 'with a good record' fined for drink driving

A WOMAN was brought before Limerick District Court for a drink driving offence.

Prosecuting Sergeant Jimmy Dillane told the court that Grainne Barry, 61, with an address at Inismore, Ennis Road, Limerick , was stopped by a garda at B&Q car park at City East Retail Park, Limerick on June 22, 2025.

Ms Barry was brought to Henry Street garda station, and a urine sample that she provided was found to be over the legal limit for driving.

Solicitor Tom Kiely told the court that Ms Barry apologises.

The solicitor detailed that his client has no previous convictions.

Mr Kiely told Judge Patricia Harney: “She has reached a certain stage in life with a good record.”

Judge Harney proceeded to impose a driving disqualification for three years on Ms Barry, and fined her €350, giving her four months to pay the penalty.
