A new lunchtime food market is coming to Dublin’s North Inner City this September.
Foodies and music lovers should mark their calendars because the very first Lunch at Liberty Park Food Market launches on Wednesday, September 9. Located at Liberty Park, just behind Talbot Street, the historic Monto district is set to come alive with food stalls, craft vendors, and even a DJ setting the tone.
Supported by the North East Inner City (NEIC) Initiative and Dublin City Council, the Liberty Park Food Market will take place every Wednesday in September from 12:30 to 3pm. Food vendors will bring together an exciting mix of flavours from around the world, including Asian and African cuisine, pizzas, Portuguese goodies, coffee, homemade cakes and treats.
Alongside the food, there will be a DJ playing music with outdoor seating, creating a new Wednesday lunchtime destination for local residents, office workers, students and visitors to Dublin 1. Lord Mayor Daryl Barron welcomed the launch.
He said: Liberty Park is a fantastic green space right in the heart of the North East Inner City. With support from the NEIC Initiative, this healthy placemaking market pilot project envisages that Liberty Park can become the perfect venue to host weekly lunchtime community food markets."
Programme Manager for the NEIC Initiative Olivia Brody said that Liberty Park is a fantastic amenity that many people who live, work and study near it aren't aware of. “The pilot Lunch at Liberty Park Food Market has fantastic food vendors, music and outdoor seating, and we want people to come down, grab some lunch, meet friends or colleagues and discover Liberty Park for themselves,” she said.
The market will take place each Wednesday throughout September, beginning on Wednesday, 9 September 2026.
