A YOUNG man has been convicted and fined €250 after failing to pay his fixed charge notice.
A YOUNG Letterkenny man has been convicted and fined €250 after he failed to pay his fixed charge notice.
Curtis John Montgomery, who has an address in Burnside View, Letterkenny, appeared in Letterkenny District Court earlier this week.
Montgomery was first issued a fixed charge notice after he was caught driving unaccompanied and with no L plates.
He was holding a learner permit and did not yet have a full licence when he was caught in the upper main street area of Letterkenny in February this year.
Judge Emile Daly asked Montgomery if he was currently working, as she would base the fine on his ability to pay it.
He replied that he was not and that he was receiving social welfare.
Judge Daly convicted Montgomery and issued a new fine of €250, which he has six months to pay.
