A WOMAN has been charged with having cannabis for sale or supply in Kilcormac .

Katie Berry (23), Kingswood, Tullamore, is alleged to have possessed the drug, and possessed it for sale or supply to others, at 16 Bridge Street, Kilcormac on July 20 last.

Sergeant Richard Thornton told Judge Andrew Cody that €500 was the indicative value of the drugs and the DPP had directed that the prosecution could be disposed of summarily in the District Court.

UPDATE: Gardai renew appeal for missing teenage girl who is yet to be located When Ms Berry appeared before Judge Andrew Cody she told him who her solicitor was but they were not present because services had been withdrawn due to a dispute over legal aid payments.

Judge Cody instructed the gardai to give full details of the case against Ms Berry to her solicitor within three weeks and remanded the woman on continuing bail to appear in court again on October 7.

On that date either a plea of guilty will be entered or the prosecution will be put back for a hearing on November 2.
