A MAN last week pleaded guilty to committing burglary at a shop in Tullamore two years ago.

Stephen Murphy (41), Arden View, Tullamore entered the plea when he was arraigned at Tullamore Circuit Court.

Mr Murphy was accused of burglary on March 19, 2023 at Dolan's filling station, Clara Road, Tullamore, having entered as a trespasser and committed theft.

Defence counsel Suzanne Dooner said Mr Murphy could be remanded for sentencing on May 6 next.

Ms Dooner said the man was also being prosecuted for other offences.

Judge Ronan Munro adjourned all matters to Tullamore Circuit Court on May 6.
