Traffic calming measures sought for link road in Kildare

Traffic calming measures have been sought for a link road located in County Kildare .

The request was submitted by a local councillor who attended the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which took place on Friday, June 5 last.

The suggestions was made to Kildare County Council (KCC) by Fianna Fáil Cllr Paul Ward, who motioned for KCC to assess and implement ‘appropriate traffic calming measures on the link road connecting Royal Meadows Estate and Chambers Park Estate in Kilcock’.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Paul Ward | PHOTO CREDIT: KILDARECOCO.IE According to Cllr Ward, he wanted these measures assessed and implemented ‘in the interest of road safety and the potential danger posed to residents, pedestrians, cyclists and children using the area’.

Speaking further on the matter, Cllr Ward told KCC that ‘a number of incidents’ had on the link road over the past few months.

In response to Cllr Durkan’s motion, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: “The Municipal District office will carry out an assessment of this location and see what traffic calming measures may be appropriate at this location.”
