Works on busy road set to stretch into September - Mayo County Council

Mayo County Council have confirmed that a 1.5-kilometre stretch of road in the South of the county is set to undergo a four-week road closure, which is due to stretch into next month.

The Council confirmed that the portion of the R-332 will close on Monday, August 17, at 8 am. The closure will finish on Friday, September 11, at 5 pm.

The route starts at the junction with the R-332 and the L-2211 at Tierney’s Bar, Foxhall, on the Galway -Mayo border, and continues east, finishing up at Cloonanaff Old School.

All other traffic is advised to use the L-1610 and L-2211 to go around the works.

The works form part of a broader project to improve the road infrastructure for those moving between the two towns.
