Man accused of indecent assault will go on trial in Tullamore

A MAN is scheduled to go on trial at Tullamore Circuit Court tomorrow (Thursday, April 23) accused of the indecent assault of a girl more than 40 years ago.
The accused man, now 64, was aged 20 when the alleged offending began and the complainant, now 50, was six.
The man has pleaded not guilty to 25 counts of indecent assault over a two-year period between 1982 and 1984.
A jury of eight men and four women has been sworn in for the trial and Judge Ronan Munro said it will open on Thursday.
