Update relating to masterplan for this Kildare region welcomed

An update in relation to a masterplan for one County Kildare region has been welcomed by a local councillor.

Kildare County Council (KCC) informed Independent Cllr Tom McDonnell about the update at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, June 17 last.

The topic arose when Cllr McDonnell asked KCC to provide an update on its masterplan for Lakeside Park in Newbridge.

In response, KCC told Cllr McDonnell: “The process of preparing tender documents to engage a consultant to prepare a masterplan for Lakeside Park in Newbridge has commenced.”

“It is proposed to advertise this in August [2026],” KCC added.

Cllr McDonnell replied by telling KCC that he welcomed and accepted the report.
