There are plans in place for Kildare County Council (KCC) to commence the Taking In Charge (TIC) of a housing estate.

The information was provided to councillors in attendance at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, June 17 last.

The matter was raised by Fine Gael Cllr Tracey O’Dwyer near the conclusion of this meeting, during which she submitted the following question to KCC: “Can KCC outline the timeline for progressing the TIC of Hillcrest Estate in Kilcullen?”

Fine Gael Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer | PHOTO CREDIT: KILDARECOCO.IE Replying to her query, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: “Hillcrest in Kilcullen forms part of the legacy portfolio of estates that are being addressed by Development Control to progressing them to TIC.

“It is hoped that investigative works can be carried out in Hillcrest later this year subject to available resources.”

KCC also said that engagement with Uisce Eireann will also commence in relation to the TIC of the foul and water network within the estate.
