A Donegal man has been brought to court and charged with breaching a safety order.

The man, who is in his 40s, appeared at a sitting of Letterkenny District Court.

He was charged with breaching a safety order, contrary to section 33 (1) of the Domestic Violence Act, 2018. The alleged incident occurred at an address in Donegal last week.

Evidence of his arrest, charge and caution was given to the court by schedule and the court heard that there were no State objections to bail.

Judge Emile Daly granted bail on condition that the man: abide by the order granted; have no contact with the alleged injured part of any witness in the case, save for any reason outlined in the order; commit no further offence and be of good behaviour; be contactable on a mobile phone 24-7; and remain intoxicant free.

He was remanded on continuing bail to appear before the court in December.
