Law student further remanded on explosives charges | Anglo Celt

A 25-year-old law student, charged in connection with the discovery of a viable explosive device in a car, has been further remanded on continuing bail.

Isobella Perrie Sullivan was driving the car, which was stopped at Carrickmacross in County Monaghan on July 22 and appeared before Monaghan District Court this morning (Friday).

Ms Sullivan, with an address at Abbeylands Park, Clane, County Kildare, faces a charge alleging the possession of an explosive substance, 394 grammes of Semtex, a military/commercial detonator and an improvised timer/power unit at Aclint on the date in question.

Sergeant Lisa McEntee told the court that the results of analysis are still awaited, following which the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) will give directions in the matter.

Defence barrister Sara Brennan indicated that Ms Sullivan had taken up bail and was present in court.

Judge Michael Connellan remanded the accused on continuing bail to appear before Monaghan District Court at 10:30am on September 28.
