Portsalon man accused of damaging neighbours car window
A PORTSALON man appeared in Letterkenny District Court on Monday past charged with criminal damage to a car.
Joe Callaghan (65), of Murrin, Portsalon was accused of damaging a rear door window of a car belonging to a neighbour. The alleged criminal damage also took place at an address in Murrin, Portsalon.
The court heard that Garda Mark Gannon had arrested the accused early on the same morning that the court had sat.
Defending solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher said that €500 in cash had been lodged to the court on his clients behalf.
Judge Emile Daly accepted jurisdiction and bail terms were set that the defendant should stay away from the property of the affected man, and not have any communication with him.
Mr Gallagher indicated that his client would be pleading not guilty.
The defendant signed his bail bond and the case will be heard on September 11.
