An intervention is needed to address the current shortage of rental properties that there is across the country.
That's according to James Spring of REA Donhoue auctioneers who says prices can't increase anymore and if they do they won't be sustainable for tenants.
The local auctioneer says that a lot of agents don't need to advertise rental properties on Daft.ie because they have a long list of perspective tenants to choose from when a property comes on the rental market.
He says the demand on rental properties has only increased over the last 12 months
James says a 2 bed apartment in Ballyconnell per month could vary from €1100 to €1500 which he says is a huge amount for a couple to afford. Ronan went along to Ballyconnell to speak to the local auctioneer.
