Former UN Diplomat to host six-week climate course in Donegal

The course is aimed at raising awareness of climate change and encouraging those over 55 to take environmental action

The free course is targeted at over-55s and will be hosted by Jacinta Barrins, a former UN Diplomat and Climate Mentor.

Six sessions are planned, which will take place at the Old Courthouse in Lifford each Wednesday from 11am to 1pm.

The first three sessions will focus on why climate action should be taken. On September 16, understanding basics will be held; the following week, September 23, will focus on changing behaviour and on September 30 the session will discuss carbon footprint.

Then, the focus will be on what action to take. On October 7, participants will be asked to select an action, the following week to examine the action and then on December 2, to share the progress with the rest of the group.
