Sent for trial accused of assaulting woman in Offaly

A MAN has been sent for trial at Tullamore Circuit Court on assault and violent disorder charges.
It is alleged that Patrick Hayes (57) Portavolla, Banagher assaulted a woman and engaged in violent disorder at Main Street, Banagher on August 4, 2024.
Mr Hayes, who is on bail, appeared before Tullamore District Court where a book of evidence was served on him by Garda Stacey O'Brien.
Garda O'Brien told Judge Andrew Cody the DPP had consented to the accused being sent to the Circuit Court sitting on April 14 on the two charges.
Mr Hayes was represented at the District Court by Patrick Martin, solicitor.
