An Audi A5, which was bearing false plates when it was seized by Gardai in Letterkenny in 2024, is to be disposed of.
An order for the disposal of the vehicle was made at a sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins informed the court that the car was seized at 2.35pm on May 4, 2024 in the Mount Southwell area of Letterkenny. The car was uninsured and had false plates.
Sergeant Collins said that the last registered owner of the vehicle was “not the keeper” of it when enquiries were made.
Gardai were unable to identify or link anyone else to the car.
Gardai sought an order for the property to be forfeited to the State for disposal and Judge Emile Daly granted the order.
