'I'll do it myself' - Limerick man curses at judge in court six

A MAN who has been charged with obstructing a peace officer in the county has appeared before a judge in Limerick City’s District Court.

Damien Quinn, 43, of Glen Court, Emly, Limerick , is charged with assault with intent to cause bodily harm or commit indictable offence at Sarsfield House, Francis Street, Limerick on April 11, 2024.
The man is further charged with the obstruction of a peace officer at Church Road, Ballylanders, Limerick on August 12, 2024.
When Mr Quinn was asked who was representing him in court, the man confirmed to the judge: “I’ll do it myself.”
Prosecuting Sergeant Aisling O’Neill stated that all discs have been furnished to the accused.

Sergeant O’Neill stated that the Book of Evidence is due to be served on the man in July.
The man, who was in custody during the time of court proceedings, told the court that he is being refused treatment.
Mr Quinn further stated: “The state is trying to cover the whole thing up”.
The man told Judge Patricia Harney “Do you know what? Stick this up your f****** hole” and raised his middle finger as he exited the courtroom.
