Hazardous waste drop-off event announced for Longford this May

Longford residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of a range of household hazardous waste items at an upcoming collection event in the county.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 10am-12pm in Pearse Park, (lower car park, near rugby club entrance.)

Items accepted at the event include old paints, household cleaners, pesticides, waste oil, medicines and batteries, allowing residents to dispose of potentially harmful materials in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

A charge of €1 per kilogram will apply where applicable, and capacity limits may also be in place depending on demand.

Participants are asked to bring photo identification along with proof of address when attending the collection.

Attendees are advised to note that commercial waste will not be accepted.
