Kildare County Council (KCC) has yet to carry out a feasibility study on a former County Kildare courthouse.
The information was heard at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, May 20 last.

It was given to Sinn Féin councillor Noel Connolly in response to a question he submitted to KCC, in which he asked KCC outline its plans for the old Kildare Town Courthouse building.
Previously, renovations were due to take place at the former Kildare Town Courthouse back in 2024.
Despite this, KCC revealed to Cllr Connolly (who appeared at the meeting by virtual means) via the report it presented at the meeting: “At present, KCC has not completed a feasibility study to identify a particular use for the Kildare Town Courthouse building.
“However, it is important to note, in this context, that KCC’s Economic Development Team are operating the Gather Craft shop and makers studio on the square in Kildare Town and that this is in support of the county’s arts and crafts cluster.”
KCC added: “ The ongoing success of this venture may feed into a future study for the courthouse building; timeline of the redevelopment is also funding dependent.”
