A call has been made for a rowing machine to be added to the outdoor gym at Bernard McGlinchey Town Park in Letterkenny, with similar facilities also proposed for other parks across the area.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh says the outdoor gym has been a "great addition" to the park since its launch in 2018.
He has now urged Donegal County Council to explore funding to expand it and bring the facility to other parks.
Speaking at Tuesday's meeting of the Municipal District, Cllr Kavanagh suggested possible support through Healthy Ireland, the Community Enhancement Programme and other funding schemes, alongside Donegal Sports Partnership.
Donegal County Council said it recognised the value of outdoor gyms in supporting health, wellbeing and active lifestyles and "are committed to exploring all options for extending recreational provision at the Bernard McGlinchey Town Park in Letterkenny."
