Longford Lotto players who purchased their tickets in an Athlone service station have been urged to check their tickets for Wednesday’s €1 million winning numbers!

The Corrib Oil Service Station on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone was confirmed as the location that sold Wednesday’s winning Quick Pick ticket.

It has also been confirmed that the ticket for the Lotto Plus 1 draw was sold on the day of the draw.

The news of the lotto win comes just two weeks after it emerged that a Longford family syndicate won the top prize of €200,000 on a scratch card! Great excitement at the Corrib Oil service station on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone

Gillian Morris, Head of Retail at Corrib Oil, said of the good news, “What a Wednesday it turned out to be for one of our customers in Athlone. It must be quite the feeling waking up and realising that you have a Lotto ticket worth €1 million!"

"Our service station on the Ballymahon Road is a busy location so we have been telling all of our customers to check their tickets very carefully. Here’s hoping the winner has since checked their ticket and realises just how much they have won."

Gillian added, "As this is the biggest win that the store has ever had, our store manager Áine and the entire team were all thrilled to hear the news. We all wish the winner the very best with their win!”

The National Lottery has continued to appeal to midlands players to check their tickets very carefully. The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and make contact with the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize from lottery headquarters.

National Lottery spokesperson Sarah Orr shared the following advice for the winner, “There could be a player out there who has no idea just how much their ticket is worth."

"The ticket could be in a wallet or tucked away at home since the draw, so we are advising any of our players who popped into Corrib Oil to purchase their Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw to carefully check their tickets."

"The winner should remain calm, sign their ticket and make contact with our Prize Claims team as soon as possible so that they can make their arrangements to visit the Winners Room to collect their prize.”
